Services - Aesthetics - Chemical Peel

Chemical Peel is one of the approaches we use in Armani Clinic.  This approach involves the removal of the top layers of the skin via the use of an approved chemical solution.  Your doctor can determine if this is the best approach for you to achieve the results you expect.

What can chemical peels treat?

Chemical Peels can treat discolored skins and scars on the face.  They can also be sued to treat some facial wrinkles.  These peels can be done in varying depths.  Talk to your doctor when considering a deeper chemical peel if you are looking for a more dramatic result.  It is important for your doctor to explain to you the recovery time of this deeper approach.

How do chemical peels work?

You should talk to your doctor in choosing one of the three depths of chemical peel that is appropriate for you. When choosing the right depth, you should expect the following results:

  1. Light Chemical Peel:  This is a superficial chemical peel, and it removes the epidermis.  The epidermis is the outermost layer of your skin.  This type of chemical peel can be implemented every two to six weeks.  The results can be reducing the fine wrinkles and acne.  It can also be used to enhance uneven skin tone in addition to reducing dry skin.
  2. Medium Chemical Peel:  Medium chemical peels not only remove the epidermis, but also the dermis.  The dermis layer is the upper part of the middle layer of your skin. Like the light chemical peel, it is used to reduce fine wrinkles, acne, and can enhance uneven skin tones.  Your doctor may recommend repeating the procedure to maintain the results you dire.
  3. Deep Chemical Peel: This type of chemical peel goes deeper in the skin.  Although recovery time is longer, this type of chemical peel will not need to be repeated to achieve the maximum results.  Patients with scars or precancerous growths may benefit from this type of chemical peel.

Are chemical peels popular?

According to the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), more than half (52 percent) of facial plastic surgeons say that chemical peels are in high demand. This is because they are not as intimidating as laser procedures or more invasive surgical procedures that plastic surgeons perform today.
